LinkedIn →🎯 How has your role as an art manager changed the way you look at projects compared to when you were an individual artist?
💬 As an individual artist, I mainly focused on creating the best piece of art I could. As an art manager, my view has widened. I now think about timelines, team strengths, dependencies, and how every asset fits together to support the bigger project goal. It’s less about my work and more about enabling the whole team to succeed.
🎨 What strengths do you observe in artists that help a team perform smoothly during tight production cycles?
💬 Artists who communicate clearly, stay organized, and remain open to feedback make a huge difference. Adaptability is especially important—those who can shift priorities or switch styles when needed help keep the whole team moving forward.
🔍 When reviewing artwork, what is the first thing you look for to understand whether it aligns with the project goals?
💬 The first thing I check is whether the piece matches the intended style and mood of the project. If the tone, shapes, colors, and overall feel are consistent with the art direction, then we can move on to details and polish.
⚖️ In game art production, challenges appear daily. Can you share an example where your decision helped move the team past a creative or technical block?
💬 A common situation is when the team gets stuck exploring too many visual directions. Once, we were torn between two styles for a slot game. I organized a quick workshop, gathered feedback, and helped the team choose one direction within the same day. That clarity helped everyone move forward confidently.
🤖 What role do you feel AI should play in helping artists, and where should human judgment always remain in control?
💬 AI is great for speeding up repetitive tasks—like generating variations, exploring color schemes, or cleaning up assets. But the core creative decisions, the emotional tone, the storytelling, and the final judgment must stay with human artists. AI should support creativity, not replace it.
🤝 What methods do you use to ensure the entire art team stays aligned on style, tone, and visual direction throughout production?
💬 Clear documentation, frequent check-ins, and visual references help a lot. We keep shared mood boards and style guides updated, and I regularly review work-in-progress pieces with the team to make sure we’re all on the same page.
🏆 What current art trends do you believe are influencing how teams work and think today in iGaming?
💬 Stylized 2D art, bold color palettes, and animation-heavy UI elements are trending. There’s also a push towards faster iteration, partly because tools and pipelines are improving—teams can experiment more quickly than before.
🔮 For artists working in slots and casino games, what skills have become more important in recent years?
💬 Game artists now need strong motion graphic skills, an understanding of player psychology, and the ability to make art that looks good on small screens. Knowing how to optimize assets so they run smoothly is also more important than ever.
🧠 If you want to inspire aspirants, what insights can you give to them?
💬 Stay curious, keep practicing, and don’t be afraid to ask for feedback. The art world changes fast, so keep learning new tools, but also develop your own voice, because that’s what truly sets you apart.
🧠 What is the first word or impression that comes to mind when you think of iGamity’s effort to highlight artists and leaders?
💬 Empowering. It feels like the company genuinely wants to celebrate the people behind the work and give them a platform to grow.
